
(Telecompaper) Android is narrowing the gap with Apple in the tablet market, according to a report from Strategy Analytics. Of the 26.8 million tablets shipped in Q4, the market researcher estimates Android had a 39 percent share, while Apple's iPad took 58 percent. Total market shipments were up 150 percent from the year-earlier period. For the full year 2011, shipments surged 260 percent to an estimated 66.9 million units.
